Name of the courses : (1) Paint and Varnish Tech-nology(Technologists') Course and (2)Paint and Varnish Technology (Operatives')Course

1.Eligibility Criteria:
(i) Entry qualification  : For course no (i) B.Sc. with Physics Chemistry Mathemetics from any recognized University in India & for course no (ii) Higher Secondary or its equivalant with Physics, Chemistry & Mathemetics.
(ii)Age Limit : 25 years as on 1st July of 2008.
(iii) Residence : Should be domiciled in West Bengal  

2.Duration of courses  : Both the courses are of two (2) years duration including six month in-plant training  

3.Admission Procedure  : Advertisement are published with in the last week of June of every year in at least one leading Bengali & English Newspapers than other two/three Bengali Newspapers. Written test is carried out normally in the last Sunday of October of every year, if not changed due to some unavoidable circumtances. Examinations are carried out on Physics,Chemistry, and Mathemetics of B.Sc level and Higher Secondary or its equivalent level for course nos 1 & 2 respectively. All the questions are of objective types. Written test are carried out on 180 marks and viva-voce on 20 marks. Opening day for admission is normally after 15th December of every year and closing day is within 25th January of every year.  

4.Last Date of submission  : 31st August,2008.  

5.Selection of Candidate  : Candidates are selected on the basis of written test followed by viva-voce test held at industrial Research Laboratry, Canal South Road,Pagladanga,Kolkata -700015  

6.Number of Intake : Twelve (12) in each of the courses  

7.Award of Certificate  : Certificate is awarded by the Director of Industries, Directorate of Industries, New Secretariat Buildings (9th Floor), 1, Kiran Sankar Roy Road, Kolkata - 700001  

8.Commencement of Session : January of 2009.

9.Recognition of the Courses : Both by the Government of West Bengal and Government of India.          

10.Reservaion of Seats  : For Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes as per Goverment Rules  

11.How to apply : Candidates are requested to apply according to the proforma given in newspaper advertisement or maydownload the same fom this website and send the application form along with 1) one copy of recent passport size photograph duly attested, should be affixed in the specified area 2) attested copies of the Admit Card and Mark sheet of last examination passed and Cast certificate if any 3) Two self addressed unstamped envelop (23x10 cm) to "The Paint and Varnish Technologist, Industrial Research Laboratory, Canal South Road, Kolkata - 700015" (Within the Old Campus of College of Leather Technology)
