A 250-bed superspeciality hospital was opened at Durgapur’s Bidhan Nagar on Wednesday. The hospital, named The Mission Hospital, was built by the Durgapur Medical Centre private Limited. Some eminent doctors have already joined the hospital, which have already applied for registration for corporate tie up.
Speaking at the inugural programme, Satyajit Bose, eminent cardiac surgeon and chairman of The Mission Hospital, said the Rs 60-crore hospital will have pneumatic chute system for auto transfer of blood. Very few hospitals in the country are equipped with this facility.
“It will also have threephase hepa filter with laminar air flow in operating theatres, which will reduce the chances of infection to zero,” he added.
Arunanasu Ganguly, vicechairman of the hospital, said outside Kolkata, no other hospital in Eastern India has such experienced doctors and hitech equipment.
