Next time when there is a power cut in your locality do not blame the CESC, as many private telecom agencies as well as other private agencies are digging up grounds for putting their cable wire inside.
Since January there have been 210 cable faults in the city due to irresponsible digging by the private agencies. It cause havoc power interruptions in various localities, and consumers of electricity has to bear the inconvenience faced due to power cuts. "We deeply regret for the inconvenience faced by the people residing in various areas within the city due to power cut. Already we have taken steps by introducing surveillance patrolling to curb this looming threat." said one spokesperson of CESC.
"Especially during the summer power cuts are a major problem and often people blame the CESC for their inconvenience. Though we are gearing up to co-ordinate with the private agencies to sort out this matter, but till now it has not taken a concrete shape." added the spokesperson of CESC.
Moreover the CESC authorities claims that it takes time to locate a fault in that cable wire and thus rejoining a high-tension cable is a hazardous job and often takes time to repair the damage thus people have to bear the burnt of power cut for a long period.
