Giving students another way to prepare for administrative exams, an institute has launched a satellite education program in the city.
Sukh Sagar Institute, a Mumbai-based educational training institute today launched its satellite affiliate programme at Lalani Computer Academy in Thakurpukur.
Mr Bhavesh Bhattacharya, principal of Sukh Sagar Institute said that apart from entrance test preparation for IAS, various software courses, hardware engineering, multimedia courses and an entire chartered accountant course will be taught through satellite education. This is the first time this teaching method will be used in Kolkata.
According to a Nascom report, more than two lakh engineers are required by industry in the country every year. But various government and private institutes in India are producing only one lakh, 20,000 students.
"We are trying to meet the industry demands of producing software and hardware engineers by satellite training education. Our faculty members include chartered accountants, company secretary and also from Indian administrative services," Mr Bhattacharya said.
