If chill in the air bothered you today, be prepared with more woollens for the next two days.
Weathermen of Alipore Met office have warned a sharp dip of two degrees within next 48 hours. Though the minimum temperature was 13.0 degree Celsius today, two degrees lower than yesterday, the maximum temperature dived down by nearly six degrees to 18.7 degree Celsius. According to a Met department official the difference in the minimum and maximum temperatures has reduced considerably.
A sunny day will welcome Kolkatans tomorrow but with a nip in the air. The weathermen ruled out possibility of rainfall in the next two days. Cold waves might blow over Bihar, Jharkhand and parts of West Bengal.
Alipore Met office had already predicted that Friday would be a comparatively cold day for city-dwellers as the temperature is expected to take a sharp dip by a few degrees. "A minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius may be recorded tomorrow, which would be the lowest in the past few days", said a Met official. The weather officials attribute the prevailing weather conditions to the western disturbances. "The conditions are, however, common for this part of the year", said a weather official.
The Met office also predicted an extended winter this year with the cold winds continuing for a few more days.
