Bharat Nirman AwardsOn June 2

The names of the recipients of Bharat Nirman Awards for 2007 have been announced. They are Shanta Ghosh for entrepreneurship in architecture and urban planning, Sampa Sen for excellence in theatre, Susan Mantosh for social service, Malini Bhagat for education, Monica Chanda for classical dance, Deepali Nag for Indian classical dance, Shiela Kapoor for painting and June Maliah for acting.

The Bharat Nirman Awards Committee has also decided to honour Shri Sikshayatan College for education, Hope Foundation for its endeavour to improve the condition of underprivileged children, Bharati Bhasa Parishad for promoting Indian literature and Sampai for performing arts.

The awards, which have been decided by a jury comprising personalities from the cultural sphere of the city, will be given on June 2 at Kala Mandir
