Nearly 13 years after it was set up, the Army Public School in Ballygunge got its own building. The school building was inaugurated on Monday by Lt Gen K S Jamwal, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command.
The Army School was set up in April 1994 under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society at the Ballygunge Maidan Camp. It started with 180 students and now has nearly 1,800. "The new building has the latest facilities including a lab and computer-aided learning features," Lt Gen Jamwal said. The programme was also attended by Mala Jamwal, president of the Army Wives' Welfare Association.
