The BEd examination of Calcutta University (CU) was postponed for the third time on Wednesday as the question paper was found incomplete. The exam has been rescheduled for 8 October. About 298 students are likely to be affected by this.
Debasish Biswas, the Deputy Controller of Examinations at CU, said when the question paper of economics and civics was opened at the university in the second half of the BEd examinations, the authorities realised that the second page of the question paper had not been printed.
This is the third time that the examination had to be postponed in two months.
Prior to this, the examinations had been cancelled on August 3, following a Calcutta High Court order and again on September 25 due to the heavy downpour.
Authorities are clueless as to how the error occurred. "We have ordered a departmental inquiry into the issue," said Onkar Sadhan Adhikari, controller of examinations, CU.
