Even as different political parties threaten to paralyse the city and disrupt normal life for two consecutive days, the IT sector in the state is adamant about continuing business as usual.
The government and various IT companies are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that employees reach work safely. The state IT department has formulated a drill to combat the `bandh threat', which will be put into practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"We have already requested the Kolkata and North 24 Paraganas police to escort employees from specified pick-up points in the city to their offices," said state IT secretary Siddharth.
Individual companies are also making their own arrangements in addition to the state's efforts.
