Apart from creating employment in the factory and the vendor park, Tata Motors flagged off its community development programme to support the cause of primary and secondary education in Singur region on Thursday.
The company provided desks, chairs, tables, cupboards and electrical fittings, educational and sports material to a primary school in Ruidaspara and Beraberi.
Tata Motors is also planning to set up a computer laboratory in one of the high schools in the region.
These initiatives are a part of the company's community development programmes in the region with focus on health, education and livelihood.
Not only this, in order to make the youth of Singur employable at the Tata Motors small car factory in the region, 397 young persons from the area are undergoing training at the Tata Motors factory at Jamshedpur.
