The West Ben gal State Electricity Board and CESC have lodged complaints against 1,796 Puja com mittees, including sever al big-budget ones, for drawing power illegally.

Statewide anti-theft drives were conducted on Saptami, Ashtami and Nabami. FIRs were lodged and penalties amounting to Rs 21.5 lakh levied. WB SEB had provided tempo rary connections to 13,728 pandals this year.

In the CESC area, sev eral big-budget Pujas were found pilfering elec tricity. CESC has lodged FIRs against Jodhpur Park Saradiya Utsab Com mittee, Sree Bhumi Sport ing Club, Sarir
