Kolkata: VLCC, the country's largest slimming and beauty care brand, today opened six 'world class technology driven' new centres in the city to take their total number across the country to 106.

Announcing the introduction of the new centres in the city VLCC, Chairperson Vandana Luthara said they were also planning to start a state of the health and fitness institute in the city within the next one month to provide training to the people about the importance of maintaining good health.

She said a total amount of Rs 12 crores had been spent by VLCC from their own sources for the setting up of the six new centres in the city during the last two years. " We expect to spend another about two to three crores for establishment of the new institute," she said.

Referring to the prospect of growth in the number of customers in the city following the opening of the new centres, Luthra said they were expecting more than 115 per cent growth in the present customer base which presently stood at about 150,000 in Kolkata alone.

About her pan Indian expansion programme in the coming years, Luthra said VLCC planned to spend at least Rs 45 crores during the current fiscal itself to open another about 30 odd addititonal centres not only in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore but also in smaller citities like Jaipur, Pune and Vishakhapattanam among a few others.

At least nine more new VLCC centres were also coming up in Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and Patna in the Eastern region during the next three months, Luthara informed another questioner.
