Kolkata: The Corporation Bank has targetted a 20 per cent increase in its business at Rs 55,000 and will open 70 more branches all over the country this year.
Chairman and Managing Director V K Chopra told reporters here today that the bank, witnessing a fast growth during the recent years, had a business of Rs 45,779 crore in 2004-05. ''This year we will increase it to Rs 55,000 crore,'' he said on the sidelines of the Banking Conclave, organised by FICCI.
Chopra said the bank also had a plan to take the total number of branches to 2000 from the present 1665 by 2006. The 70 new branches coming up this year would be located in various parts of the country, including Guwahati, Kolkata, Bihar and Jharkhand.
The number of ATMs would also increase to 1050 from 804 by 2006, he said.
